Star Fox, Project Guard and Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem Possible New Titles for iOS and Android As Nintendo Explores More Smart Device Options

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said that the company would be releasing 5 titles for iOS and Android devices until March 2017. The first title would be rolled out before 2015 ends. This was due to Nintendo's aim to demonstrate a serious commitment to the smart device business. Possible titles that could arrive in iPhone and Android devices starting 2015 include "Pokemon Shuffle", "Mario", "Donkey", and "Zelda."

Five games for iOS and Android until 2017

Nintendo President Saturo Iwata said that Nintendo will be "carefully" selecting appropriate IP and titles for smartphone video games. By March 2017, the company will be releasing around five titles and the first is going to be rolled out before 2015 ends.Iwata reportedly said, "You may think it is a small number, but when we aim to make each title a hit, and because we want to thoroughly operate every one of them for a significant amount of time after their release, this is not a small number at all, and should demonstrate our serious commitment to the smart device business."

But this doesn't mean that they would be leaving their consoles such as the new 3DS and Wii U. The company wanted to link consumers in with connectivity on smartphones such as iPhones and Galaxy S devices, tablets, and even PCs with an "integrated membership service." In other words, this will let owners play games across mobile devices, PC, and Nintendo consoles, and will be implemented starting by Fall.Nintendo and DeNA also made a partnership to develop "new titles made specifically for mobile," without compromising high-quality user experience.

Upcoming primary Nintendo products that could hit in iOS and Android devices

Currently, there is no information as to the name of the titles that Nintendo would be releasing until 2017, except that Nintendo will not "merely port games developed for our dedicated game systems to smart devices." Instead, the company would be developing new software that "matches the play style and control mechanisms of smart devices." Iwata saw that "smartphones and dedicated game devices were different platforms."

However, he hinted that they would consider "free-to-start" type of games in iOS and Android phones such as "Pokemon Shuffle." TIME also said, "It's official: Mario, Donkey and Zelda will appear on smartphones and tablets at last-and that's just the start." If these turn out true, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s or iPhone 7 owners would be able to play "Pokemon Shuffle," "Mario", "Donkey," and "Zelda" in their devices.

Nevertheless, Nintendo has yet to make official statements about their game releases.
