Now that the director and production team of Marvel's Doctor Strange are in the thick of scouting for realistic locations for fantasy-adventure flick, fan-made promo arts may soon be set aside for the official poster. So far, Scott Derrickson had shared via social media Don Franco's art featuring the silhouette of Benedict Cumberbatch's face amidst a cosmic design that looks like the galaxy.
Since the cloak of mystery on who's portraying Sorcerer Supreme -- who protects Earth against supernatural threats/menaces- has been lifted, fans' excitement cannot be contained.
Leave it to British actor Benedict Cumberbatch to breathe life to roles ranging from out-of-the-ordinary (as the voice of the menacing dragon in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug) to heroic but overwhelmingly sad (the brilliant mathematician punished for homosexuality), to action-packed (Sherlock Holmes and Khan in Star Trek: The New Generation).
Known as an actor who can rise to the demands of a role, Benedict is expected to let audiences feel just how unique and compelling a character Doctor Strange is.
Doctor Stephen Strange has been described as unusual, elusive, and "cool in a detached, solemn and deeply uncool way." Having lent his voice to the character of dragon in a mountain of gold, a villain, a brilliant mathematician and a detective, Benedict Cumberbatch has proven his mettle.
To date, the good-looking and enigmatic actor has been working out to more closely resemble the character he will be portraying. Cumberbatch has gotten a personal trainer to aid him in getting in shape and bulking up to look like the Doctor Strange main character portrayed in Marvel comic literature.
It's Benedict's acting depth, though, that will be tested anew in the upcoming movie. Doctor Strange is slated for release in November 2016. Does the Marvel cinematic universe have a new able-bodied member who will be seen in, not one, but several films?
