Metallica will be the headliner in the upcoming 20th Annual X Games this June, where lots of incredible athletes will show off their skills in the different fields. Better watch out for the events like BMX, RallyCar, MotoX, skateboard and many more. Also, performances of the well known artists of different genres are in the lineup for the 20th X Games tournament.
Surely everyone that would attend the 20th anniversary of X Games knows the heavy metal band Metallica. It was announced officially that they will be part of the headliner this coming June in Austin, TX. After their performance in Austin last 2009, they will be back for another rockin' event.
Metallica said that it is their first to perform in X Games, and that they are really excited to see what the amazing athletes can do, as they are expecting heavy stunts, too.
"There's a connection to those type of people. It's similar energy. You see at these events they're playing a lot of hard rock metal and punk rock. The tribe that followed that style of music is still around for the sports. These guys are listening to that music. It's important to them. It's a part of their lineage. I'm excited. One of the things I enjoy is hearing the music and seeing the skating. Seeing the two worlds working together at the same time," said Robert Trujillo, bassist of Metallica.
Tony Hawk, a pro skateboard player said "Metallica has helped provide the soundtrack for action sports since I can remember. Having them play at X Games is huge, so I'll be front and center for their concert."
Some other artists are also featured in the upcoming X Games like Nikki Minaj, Talib Kweli, Pennywise, Joywave, the Glitch Mob and Kid Ink.
