‘Justice League: Gods And Monsters’ Movie Update: Bruce Timm reveals the dark side of Justice League Members in their alternate realities

By

If fans are already hyped with the upcoming movie "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", there is no doubt that its other DC Comics heroes direct-to-video film is also getting the same treatment as Warner Bros. animation legend Bruce Timm is returning to the silver screen with "Justice League: Gods and Monsters". It might be as predictable as it sounds but the DC veteran animator Bruce Timm assures it fans of a whole new excitement with the superheroes' all-new and all-different realities.

The film will feature the universe's individual superheroes but with an all-new and all-different background and motivation. Warner Bros and Machinima will be returning Batman which this time will not be Bruce Wayne but Kirk Langstorm. Superman and Wonderwoman will also be included in the line-up wherein the former will be adopted by a Mexican immigrant and the latter, a girl raised in the image of warmongering god Ares.

Though these differences have left the fans curious, Bruce Timm believes that this approach sticks to the main concept of the character, whether it's the same person or not.

"I think of it in the same way that I think about the James Bond movies. To me, growing up in the 60s, Sean Connery is James Bond. Everything about those early movies is James Bond to me. Yet, when the Daniel Craig movies started coming out, I thought, "That's a radically different take on James Bond, but I kind of dig it, and it's still true to the character," Timm explained.

The legendary DC animation veteran even admitted how surprising yet exciting at the same way the new back stories these characters, most especially Superman, now have.

According to him Superman's origin story is so good and mythic which is why they're shifting it slightly. Instead of ending up at Kansas, the new Superman will end up in Arizona desert where he will be raised by a Mexican couple -a backstory which he believes is "something different".

This is only a sneak peak of what the fans should be expecting in the upcoming "Justice League: Gods and Monsters" as according to Timm, the different realities open up a lot of new possibilities for the characters not only for just for Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, but for all the other DC characters.

Bruce Timm's approach might be new and sudden for the fans but at least it gives a whole new excitement and expectations to the upcoming animated film which will be directed by Sam Liu (Batman: Year One).

"Justice League: Gods & Monsters" animated film is set to premiere on July 28, 2015 and will soon be available on Blu-ray Deluxe Edition, Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and Digital HD.
