JK Rowling has always been quite vocal on her political views. The famed Harry Potter author has always been a strong woman when it comes to dealing with online hate. However, everyone has a breaking point.

JK Rowling was subjected to some rather nasty comments on her Twitter page from people who were staunch supporters of the Scottish National Party (SNP). Rowling emphasized that she believed in "standing up to bullies". The author said that the series of personal attacks had "crossed her personal line."

The "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" creator has been a known supporter of Britain's Labor Party. Rowling had donated nearly a million pounds towards the "No Campaign," which would fight to keep Scotland from gaining their independence.

In doing so, Rowling earned the ire of many 'Twitter trolls' who would hurl many insults at her, calling her a 'traitor to Scotland' and an arch-unionist propagandist, feeding a river of hatred".

Rowling was not one to take the online hate sitting down. While she admits that receiving online hate has never been relatively new, she can no longer turn a deaf ear towards the senseless hate.

"I feel no responsibility to hush up that kind of behaviour to protect the image of any political party. It isn't always fun being a famous woman on Twitter and I believe in standing up to bullies." she posted.

Despite the online hate that she's getting, the Harry Potter mogul is not quitting social media anytime soon as she receives a lot of support from beloved fans.

"It's making me tearful. I'm always like this. Bullying never makes me cry, then people are lovely and I bawl." she said.

Rowling is currently working on the script of the Harry Potter spin-off "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." It was reported that ''The Theory of Everything" actor is currently in the talks for starring in the upcoming film.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set to be a trilogy. The first in the planned trilogy is set for release in 2016.
