NBC has officially revealed their 2015-2016 line-up unveiling some major changes in the network's fall schedule. The network which used to be known as the home of classic sitcoms such as "Friends" and "Sienfield" is replacing the multiple comedy shows with drama-heavy slate.
NBC TV Series for this Fall seems to be betting big on drama with its new dramatic fares in the 10PM time slot including "The Player", a thriller starring Wesley Snipes, on Thursdays and "Blindspot", a crime drama, on Mondays. The new medical drama "Heartbreaker" is also included which will air Tuesdays after "The Voice".
However, the glory days of the network when it comes to the comedy genre seems to be over now as they cancelled multiple comedy shows. In the fall, NBC will only be airing the two comedy sitcoms left, rom-com "Undatable" and the new show "People Are Talking", on Fridays -the network's lowest-rated weekday. This will be the first time in more than 30 years that the network has scheduled only hour of comedy in the fall.
Meanwhile, "Heroes Reborn" , the reboot of Tim Kring's superhero drama will be landing Thursdays at 8PM and "Best Time Ever", a new variety show hosted by Neil Patrick Harries on Tuesdays at 10PM.
Other than that, "The Mystery of Laura", "Law & Order: SVU, and "Chicago P.D." will be returning in its Wednesday schedule. "The Blacklist" will remain in its Thursday time slot as well. NFL games will also continue on Sundays in the fall.
Some of the NBC's shows which were not mentioned like "Coach", "Chicago Fire", "Chicago Med", "Shades of Blue", "Hot and Bothered" and more are set to premiere next season.
Now that it's already known which NBC shows are returning and which ones are not, initial evaluation can be done whether the TV network's 2015-2016 line-up and fall schedule will pull its ratings back to the top or drag the network lower than its current status.
