The Walking Dead Season 3 was confirmed by Telltale that it will not likely to release this year. The game developer was able to clarify that though it will not be pursued for its official launching in 2015 due to some hints that there might be something else that will come along the way. However, it was also cited that it will be released at least 2016.
Recently, there were reports gathered online that Telltale, the game developer behind this game franchise, somehow hinted that they are doing something else and prioritized its development than finishing the upcoming The Walking Dead Season 3 gameplay, which should have been slated this year as planned and announced to their avid fans.
Telltale Games PR Director Job J. Stauffer affirmed this claim and added to the information that the game will be released around next year.
But this will not happen since they have already made it clear through an interview that it might be released by early next year. Several follow-up tweets were also noticed responding to the news that Telltale will not launch any The Walking Dead game this 2015. With that, there were several theories made by some that it might be possible that the reasons behind its delay are more of the relative to the 400 Days special episode and the Walking Dead companion series.
This was supported to the previous announcement by Telltale that they were creating something like a "super show" that linked to their project to have it as television content "with a companion game." Because of that, the theory of prioritizing The Walking Dead companion series as a main reason why the game developer decided to delay the games arrival.
Furthermore, during the SXSW panel, they also revealed that they will be partnering Lionsgate with the said "super show." So, since the game developer already confirmed that The Walking Dead Season 3 will not be arriving this year, at least there is an assurance that the game will likely be in their respective platforms. Speculations were out that Telltale might announce something this coming E3 game press convention this June about further details about The Walking Dead Season 3.
