Ubisoft has released official statements regarding the release of Tom Clancy's The Division being moved to first quarter next year to ensure meeting high expectations of fans. The game developer also added that solid details will be unveiled at E3 this June when the MMO RPG makes a special appearance at the prestigious US event.
Again, fans will have to suspend their excitement as Ubisoft announced that the awaited game will be delayed to 2016. If one can recall, the game made an instant fame when it was revealed at E3 2013. It was expected to be released in 2014, but few months before the scheduled release date it was announced that the anticipaed game will be delayed to 2015.
Two days ago an announcement from The Division's official website says that the game will again be delayed early next year. The statement reads:
"We have decided to release the game on Xbox One, PS4 and PC during the first quarter of calendar year 2016.
All of us at Massive, Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment and Ubisoft Annecy want to ensure the game not only meets our high expectations but also those of our fans and players alike. We are proud of what we have achieved so far and can't wait to show you more next month at E3!"
Also, the same news was revealed in Ubisoft's FY15 earnings presentation which says that the "highly anticipated open-world MMO RPG" will release in the fourth quarter of its 2016 fiscal year. It means that we can expect it somewhere between January 1 and March 31 of 2016.
"It is never an easy decision to move a launch date," says Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot to IGN.
Guillemot also added saying, "We want to make sure we have enough feedback from consumers from alpha and betas to polish it as much as possible before the launch. So that it comes to the market with the best experience possible."
Ubisoft recently revealed that they recruited another developer, Ubisoft Annecy, to help them develop the game making it a total of four studios working for The Division right now. Ubisoft Annecy, one of its studios, who is also behind Assassin's Creed II and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow's multiplayer, is now working on the upcoming title.
Given this recent announcement that users have found about Tom Clancy's The Division receiving an alpha as well as beta tests on Xbox One, PS4, and PC in the coming months, it is as good as an official confirmation to come from Ubisoft and expect more solid details at E3 2015. Keep tuning in.
