Married at First Sight Season 2 Couple Relationship Conflicts Linger; Jaclyn, Ryan R. start over as friends? Davina, Sean still trying to work it out

By

Married at First Sight Season 2 has exposed the relationship flaws between the social experiment couples of the show in Episode 9 aptly titled "Conflict." The recent episode showed the couples together and as individuals talking about their differences with show psychologist Dr. Joseph Cilona.

In the episode recap, Dr. Cilona helps the couples understand where the sources of their differences come from and suggests how to overcome their relationship conflicts.

Jessica Castro and Ryan De Nino are finally able to communicate without shouting matches. Jessica gets help about her inability to communicate her needs. Ryan D. realizes just how much his disrespectful demeanor towards his new wife has hurt their chances.

Dr. Joseph gives the couple a best-chance-to-make-it rating after their sessions. "They've definitely had their ups and downs and it's been a roller coaster for them both in their own ways. But I really think they have what it takes and I'm very hopeful that they can make it through this," declares Dr. Joseph. Jessica agrees and says she wanted to work on their relationship. "Divorce is not a word that's in my vocabulary," she said.

Davina Kullar and Sean Varricchio have not had enough time to work things out given their living arrangements and Dr. Joseph recommends they make adjustments. It appears Davina's personal issues carried over from before her marriage are sabotaging her current relationship.

In an interview before their marriage Davina admits, "Even when the men have been, I think, good and decent men, I have questioned every little thing and looked for red flags when maybe they weren't necessarily red flags." Dr. Cilona leads Davina to realize her fears about Sean may just be her habits reappearing and not actual rejection from her husband. The couple celebrates their breakthrough sessions by hanging out and playing a game of Lego.

Jaclyn Methuen and Ryan Ranellone in earlier reports were seen as having the best chance to survive the marriage experiment.

However, Jaclyn has been expressing her misgivings about her marriage with Ryan R. "If he's already mentally closed off and he's checked out of this, then I'm also gonna do the same. And I'm gonna put a stop to whatever feelings I have that are growing because I don't want to beg somebody to want to be with me," asserted Jacklyn.

But even after the stress of marriage has put the happy couple in jeopardy with their emotional abandonment issues, Zap2it still gives Jacklyn and Ryan R. the best chance to make the relationship work.

The show recap though shows Jacklyn responding to Ryan R.'s willingness to keep working on their marriage by saying they have to start over as friends.

Married at First Sight Season 2 airs Tuesdays at 9pm on A&E and FYI.tv.
