Halo 5: Guardians, for the longest time, has been intended to be released for a newer generation console: Xbox One. However, it appears that several fans are not in favour of this decision from 343 Industries as seen in a petition to launch the game on Xbox 360.
This news was spotted by Design&Trend, talking about how the Facebook group for the Halo franchise had a petition going on - comprising about 19 people. While the page is a couple years old already, this update was noted by a user from the official "Halo" Reddit community, by the name of saynotoraptor.
An anonymous source says, "this is a petition to try to get 'Halo 5' for Xbox 360 and not Xbox One." However, Microsoft is making it a point that first-party studios working under it are putting their energies on development for current-generation consoles. While creating this stand is a bold move, does it really stand a chance to sway Microsoft?
Since Halo 5: Guardians is one of the much awaited games to come this year, it would be a strategic move, business-wise, to pursue the game for newer consoles. This will give more light for Xbox One, encouraging consumers to finally purchase the hardware, supposing they still don't have, in order to play upcoming AAA games.
The pricing for Halo 5: Guardians has already been confirmed, and is reviewed by an article from Neowin. There are three retail versions of the title, noting that the Limited Collector's Edition is made available for pre-order at a whopping $249.99.
A glimpse of the said edition was made possible through GameStop Italy. The nitty-gritty of what's inside was still kept secret, though. In previous announcements from Microsoft, the pack would have "new digital content to enhance Spartan combat and exclusive items wrapped in a uniquely designed steel book."
Information about the gameplay of Halo 5 is scarce, but IGN pointed out a tease on the what it will be about. An audio clip entitled "Who's Listening", being the 7th episode, has been released which entails the "origins of the Spartan program."
Halo 5: Guardians will be released for Xbox One, unless considerations will be made for the older Xbox 360. If the latter won't happen, then those who agree with the petition should just be thankful the previous versions of Halo were for Xbox 360. The 343 Industries shooter game is scheduled to launch by October 27.
