After the astounding finale of "Arrow" season 2 and the upcoming denouement of its spin-off "The Flash," fans of these The CW's shows should not worry on not seeing them for some time as the TV network along with DC have released the very first promo image and trailer of upcoming "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" featuring the notable alum of the aforementioned shows such as The Atom and Hawkgirl. "Arrow" alumna Caity Lotz will also be back for a new role as White Canary.
DC's upcoming TV show "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" is actually a spin-off of "Arrow" and "The Flash," so this new one can borrow some of the former characters long-gone from both shows. After the finale of "Arrow," The CW has shortly released the promo image and the official synopsis. This was also followed by a trailer showing all the superheroes and villains. But wait, first things first.
The said promotional image features the first glimpse of the "Legends Of Tomorrow" assembled including Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter), Ciara Renee (Hawkgirl), Victor Garber (Martin Stein), Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), and Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory/Heat Wave). But the most unforeseen part you can actually glean information from this is that Caity Lotz is also joining the team as White Canary.
Giving a brief background and an "Arrow" spoiler, Caity Lotz played as Sara Lance or Black Canary. She was killed by Malcolm Merlyn but apparently, this new DC show has brought her back from the dead as White Canary, her new persona. We know you want to know how, so here it is: her resurrection is because of the Lazarus Pit's magic.
Meanwhile, the first trailer showed villain Vandal Savage, Rip Hunter, and Hawkgirl. Likewise, Ray Palmer or The Atom's power was also glimpsed. The ex-Superman actor can do some of Marvel superheroes' faculties including flying like Iron Man and shrinking like Ant-Man. The trickster villain from "The Flash" Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne or Reverse-Flash was also briefly seen. And of course, Arrow and Flash themselves have some appearances here and there.
Furthermore, this new DC TV show is promising based from its official synopsis. The partial of the summary reads: "When heroes alone are not enough... the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"
Good thing DC has found some way to keep fans stoked. What are you most excited so far with the "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" trailer? Do you think it can reach the same success as "The Flash" and "Arrow"? Watch your calendars as this new show premieres early next year!
