Watch Dogs 2 Reportedly Under Development With Revamped Gameplay

By

Watch Dogs 2 is currently under development base on the listing on the LinkedIn profile of one Ubisoft's senior gameplay programmer, Julien Risse. Ubisoft Montreal vice president already shared his plans in making "radical" changes to the core gameplay. There is no hint for a release date yet, but it is safe to assume that Watch Dogs 2 will appear on E3 next month in Los Angeles, California.

Julien Risse, who works at Ubisoft in Paris, had removed the Watch Dogs 2 listing on his LinkedIn profile. According to the listing he works as a senior gameplay programmer at Ubisoft. A sequel to Ubisoft's open-world action-adventure game Watch Dogs is reportedly in development, according to a listing on the the Linkedin profile of a Ubisoft senior gameplay programmer.

Expectations for the sequel of Watch Dog include the overhaul of gameplay mechanics. Lionel Raynaud, the vice president at Ubisoft Montreal, has spoken previously about the shortcomings of the first game. There is still no official announcement made of the game being developed but all signs are pointing that the game is indeed in development. Raynaud is hoping to create a technology that will allow freedom to players, more freedom than what was already offered in the original Watch Dogs game.

Back in January this year, Jonathan Morin also admitted that the base game could be improved a lot, and the potential sequel could offer new things never before seen in an open-world game.

Watch Dogs was developed and published by Ubisoft on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC and the WiiU. For an original intellectual property, Watch Dogs sold a lot of copies and became the highest selling Ubisoft first title on the first day of its release. Watch Dogs also was received well among critics. Watch Dogs 2 is reportedly under development with revamped gameplay and is expected to be on the show floor in E3 this June.
