It seems that Apple's 12.9-inch iPad Pro and Samsung's Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 are up to another challenger, and this time is coming from one of the best PC manufacturers in the world, Dell. A patent showed that Dell is working on a foldable and "dual display tablet."

The tablet's operating system is not yet specified, but it is said to possibly run Windows and/or Android OS. Dell's latest "dual display tablet" offers an awesome functionality of allowing the future owners to close it "like a book." Further, the device is also planned to use Office-like app such as the Microsoft Office Excel, and others.

The features that the foldable Dell tablet would be offering are:

    • Gyroscopes
    • Accelerometers
    • Magnetometers
    • Reference point sensors
  • Dynamic Hover sensitivity
  • Multi-hover gesture detection

Other specs and features are yet to be disclosed.

Dell filed the patent for their dual display tablet in Q4 2013, and it is still unknown as to when would the device be released. Could this be released this year or 2016? Samsung's Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is rumored to be launched this June, and is expected to sport specs and features such as:

On the other hand, Apple's 12.9-inch iPad Pro is speculated to be launched on 2016 while some this late 2015. The specs and features that iPad Pro is expected to have are:

  • Touch panel with increased sensitivity
  • Built-in NFC chip
