"Captain America: Civil War" fans will be devastated to know that one of their favorite characters would die in the sequel. A series of photos released recently featured Chris Evans and Emily Van Camp in a funeral scene.
As of late, Marvel has not yet confirmed which character will be killed off in the "Captain America" franchise, but fans are already speculating on the fate of Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), according to Design & Trend.
A recent photo shared on the Instagram account @crazy_marvelfangirl featured the funeral notice of Margaret "Peggy" Carter at St. Luke's Cathedral. Although the Instagram account handler is also unsure whether or not the photo is legit, thousands of fans already reacted hysterically over the possibility of killing off Peggy. As of late, the photo has already received thousands of likes.
Meanwhile, Evans and Van Camp were recently photographed going into a synagogue in Georgia, which looked like a London Church. This setting could support reports that Peggy will be killed off in the movie, Comic Book reported.
A photo was shared by Instagram user @lorenfay and was captioned, "Chris Evans is out of his 'Captain America' super hero costume and in a tuxedo while shooting a funeral scene for 'Captain America 3!' As of late, Atwell has not yet released a statement confirming whether or not her character will be killed off. What is only known at this moment is the fact that "Captain America: Civil War" will kick off where the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" left off.
Steve Rogers/Captain America (Evans) will be leading the new team of Avengers in their efforts to ensure the safety of the world. The group will face a huge ordeal in the process, which would lead to the possible installation of a governing body who will decide whether or not their services to save humankind are indeed necessary.
"Captain America: Civil War" is slated for release in the United States on May 16, 2016.
