Resident Evil 7 is getting mixed forms of anticipation from fans as the Capcom title has not been consistent with its previous versions. However, the horror and action game might eventually get back on its feet based on certain reports and even a screenshot that recollects the quality of the past.
According to an article from the UK Express website, E3 will be having three new titles within the genres of adventure, action, and fighting/wrestling. This brings the prospect of Resident Evil 7, being that it has elements of the three mentioned earlier, although its horror aspect is what makes it something fans love.
One thing gamers should note is that there have been no plans for releases on Xbox 360 and PS3. Thus, a shift to newer consoles is on the works. Resident Evil 7 has been pegged for a 2015 release date, making E3 a good venue to discuss its features and whatnot.
In order to support the upcoming launch of Capcom's title, LatinoPost quoted a statement from a research firm, Super Data. It said, "We anticipate this month's downturn to level off during the coming few months, following a regular seasonal pattern but expect to see an upswing as the next editions of several major franchises like Halo and Resident Evil come out in the 2015 fall season."
There have also been reports that a costume designer was hired for a few months within 2012 to 2013 to work on Resident Evil 7. This further implies that the next game in the series is bound to come soon. This will be an opportunity for Capcom to make up for its decline in appealing to fans with its past couple of releases under the horror title's series.
Resident Evil 7 might be going back to its traditional horror storyline and gameplay as MCrunch talks about a leaked screenshot showing Racoon City. This was a setting in Resident Evil's trilogy where everything used to be gore and terror and less action.
Fans should keep their eyes peeled for what's to come in Resident Evil 7. If the rumors are true, then Capcom will be headed for the right direction in terms of bringing the series to its former glory.
