"The Flash" season 1 episode 23 titled, "Fast Enough" saw Barry altering the events in the past just to save his mother. Will his decision to travel back in time open the possibility of Kid Flash entering next season?
Episode 23 saw "The Flash" in his lifelong mission: to save his mother's life. After learning that time travelling is possible, Barry decided to finally pursue his goal and went back in time. But naturally, his decision to alter the events in the past has repercussions in the present. Dr. Martin Stein (guest star Victor Garber) and Ronnie Raymond (guest star Robbie Amell) returned to help the S.T.A.R. Labs team with their final fight.
The "Fast Enough" episode is a nod to the "Flashpoint Paradox" in the Comics, where Barry wakes up in an alternative timeline in which his mother is alive but his father died of heart attack. Central City is being protected by Citizen Cold since Flash, Justice League, and Superman don't exist in this timeline.
"The Flash" satisfyingly concludes its first season and readies its loyal fans for the event next season where Wally West aka "Kid Flash" might appear.
The show is already filled with interesting characters but there could be more heroes in "The Flash" season 2, as per showrunner Greg Berlanti's revelation during his PaleyFest Q&A. Berlanti teased the idea when he was asked whether another "Flash Family" member will enter next season.
"That's our hope. And we've already been picked up for a second season so I think if we were going to do something like that, we would do it next season."
Production for "The Flash" season 2 kicks off on July 7.
