Neil Gaiman's science fiction story "How to Talk to Girls at Parties" will be adapted into a film and the frontrunners for the star-studded cast of the film are Nicole Kidman and "Maleficent" actress Elle Fanning.
Elle Fanning is said to take on the lead role as she is said to be the extra-terrestrial visitor who will meet the two teenage boys. As for the role of Kidman, it remains to be unknown but according to a statement, when the script was given to the Oscar award winner, she responded enthusiastically and quickly as she agreed to take on the role offered to her.
"How to Talk to Girls at Parties" is about two boys namely Vic and Enn as the story takes place during the 1970s in London. The two main characters tried to talk to girls at a certain party they attended but failed to do so. They first though that talking to girls was an easy task but they discovered there was something different about their counter parts.
The film adaptation of "How to Talk to Girls at Parties" will be directed by "Rabbit Hole" director John Cameron Mitchell, whom Nicole Kidman already worked with before. Mitchell will co-write the scripe with Gaiman and it will be produced alongside Howard Gertler. There has been no other detail available regarding the other stars eyed for the roles of the upcoming flick.
However, reports have surfaced about the soundtrack of "How to Talk to Girls at Parties" as it is expected to be major and a big hit. LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy is reportedly one of the many major and known artists who have been tapped to work on the soundtrack of the upcoming film adaptation. The cast members are also said to contribute to the soundtrack although no specific details have been given regarding this matter.
This is not the only project of Kidman as she will also be returning to the small screen regarding an upcoming HBO project. The "How to Talk to Girls at Parties" is said to start filming in London by autumn this year but no confirmation has been released yet. The release date for "How to Talk to Girls at Parties" is also yet to be announced.
