The hip-hop world mourned the loss of rapper Lionel Pickens, also known as Chinx. The rapper was the victim of a drive-by shooting in Queens, New York last May 17.
The famed rapper was also a member of French Montana's Coke Boys. According to news reports, Chinx was found along with a second victim in his car at around 4 a.m. on Sunday. Chinx had sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his torso. As of this writing, details on his death are still in development.
Members of the famed hip-hop community-including Meek Mill and Wiz Khalifa came forward to pay their respects to the fallen rapper. The hip-hop artists took to social media to say their condolences for his passing. Many of the hip-hop community mourned the loss of a fellow artist and hoped that justice would be served for Chinx and his family.
Jay-Z will be paying a tribute to Chinx during a show in Manhattan on Friday night. Sean "Diddy" Combs paid a tribute to the rapper on his Instagram page.
'Keeping up with the Kardashians' reality star Khloe Kardashian was also saddened by the loss of a good family friend. The reality star took to her Instagram to mourn the loss of a dear friend. "We've only known each other a short time but it was the best time," Khloe posted on her Instagram.
Chinx was married to Janelli Pickens for eight years, and grew up together. A memorial was set up at the scene of the crime where both family and friends have paid their last respects to the rapper.
"It is a hard time, we are going through a lot," Pickens said. "It's a very devastating situation, his kids are greatly affected by all this. They don't quite understand, but it will hit them soon. For his son, who doesn't understand why God's angels have come and taken his father, he just wants to know when he's going to bring him back, and it's hard, it's very hard. A lot of people don't understand that this was his life, was his family."
According to his Instagram page, the family wishes privacy over his passing. Funeral arrangements are yet to be arranged.
