NCIS Los Angeles Season 6 finale aired this week leaving more questions to be answered in the next Season 7 series.
Chernoff, K. the finale episode aired Monday night on CBS. In the finale, the team goes to Russia to save Arkady Kolcheck's daughter Anastasia from an abductor who is brokering the selling of oil in the black market.
Episode 24's title concerns Agent Callen's father. It turns out Callen's father did not die in the Gulag as he previously thought. Nikita Reznikov escaped prison, lived in Russia, and went by the name Konstantine Chernoff. Chernoff worked with Arkady Kolcheck to bring refugees into America. Callen is distraught upon realizing he was in Russia when his father was still alive. Hetty tells Callen Chernoff died in 2008. However, an old man who fits the description of Chernoff appears very much alive in his old haunts.
Hetty revealed this last bit of information to Callen as she also disclosed she previously got married for an assignment.
The team busts the oil black market ring but at the expense of Arkady who is last seen with possibly fatal gunshot wounds.
Did Hetty lie to Callen about his father being alive still? Whatever happened to Henrietta's husband? Will Arkady survive to again see his daughter Ana? These questions and many others left hanging at the closing of the season may be answered when NCIS Los Angeles comes back on air in the fall. CBS confirmed the renewal of the series which will keep the Monday night 10pm timeslot.
Followers of the show were earlier worried that the show will face cancellation because of its falling ratings. Reports indicate that since its move to the Monday night timeslot, NCIS Los Angeles Season 6 declined 34% and received only a 1.62 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The series also declined 37% in viewership with 9.32 million in viewership.
NCIS Los Angeles Season 6 remains in the top five highest rated drama series on CBS despite the ratings decline.
