Hulk Solo Film Possible after Marvel's Avengers Success

By

A huge fan favorite among the comic book characters that hit the big screen is the Hulk, yet producers as well as actor Mark Ruffalo recently expressed that a Hulk solo film may not be happening anytime soon. Then again, the studio's stance may shift.

A standalone Hulk film is not on the movie slate of Marvel in the next three years. The last time we saw the big green character was in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." To date, Mark Ruffalo, who's been locked into the role of Hulk for multiple films in the long term, had explained that Marvel hasn't secured the rights from Universal for a standalone Hulk movie yet.

A Hulk solo film that many of us remember years ago is the one that had Eric Bana in the lead role. Most fans have stated he did a good job playing the Hulk's alter ego Bruce Banner, though some people noted he was too handsome for the role. Bana, nonetheless, said he enjoyed the ride. There was also the nerdy character played by Edward Norton in 2008. It's debatable who the best Hulk is, but new-generation movie audiences definitely enjoyed watching the recent Hulk moments of Mark Ruffalo in the Avengers flick.

There's reason to be wary of developing a storyline around the Hulk as a standalone hero, since there's his perpetually moping alter ego that may viewers would have to endure watching. Both Marvel's man-at-the-helm and Mark Ruffalo had expressed willingness to go down the road of a Hulk solo film, but admitted that a standalone character' storyline may be problematic. A crossover to a highly anticipated Marvel film may be more engaging.

Wouldn't you want to see Bruce Banner letting out his inner turmoil and sharing the big screen with Tony Stark, as played out by actors Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr., respectively? Share your thoughts in the comments box below.
