When Star Wars Battlefront gameplay debuts at E3, it will only show how different it will be from the first two in its series. This step from EA Digital Illusions CE did not please a lot of fans right away as it veers away from the main story as a framework. Nevertheless, looking into the actual features may give a clearer picture as to why this was made possible.
The new game mode is named Fighter Squadron, which will give players the freedom to fight aerially in a scenario of space battles. It is set to debut in November. Fighter Squadron is explained by Battlefront's design director, Niklas Fegraeus. On Express UK, he says, "Fun is the essence of Star Wars. We have chosen to reboot the Star Wars Battlefront franchise instead of making a sequel."
With this being said, the people behind the game really intend to change things up by introducing new capabilities that weren't previously thought for the title as opposed to creating an entirely new story once again. Aside from new gameplay modes, various maps were also produced to deliver a certain kind of experience. Fegraeus talks about the view in the Fighter Squadron mode where things really feel grand.
While the new style in gameplay has its reasons, another thing that worries fans about the quality of Battlefront 3 would be the fact that its release is very close to the showing of the new Star Wars movie. There are rumors that the game was rushed for it to come to fans alongside the film.
Going back to Star Wars Battlefront, DICE intends that multiplayer would be the highlight of the title, as implied by BidnessETC. The online multiplayer mode for the title is said to allow up to 40 players in one instant, with the freedom to choose from 12 maps for multiplayer on the game's launch.
As Star Wars Battlefront gameplay debuts at E3, fans should be excited for the new features DICE has in store. The game will be released for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on November 17. On the other hand, the worldwide showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be on December 18.
