"The Flash" season 1 ended this week and fans can no longer wait to see what will be in store for their favorite characters come next season. Ahead of season two's premiere, "The Flash" lead star Grant Gustin revealed exciting details about the CW series, his character, the new villains and more.
According to Gustin, the upcoming season of "The Flash" will have multi-layered timelines. This means that the setting of the series will take place in different worlds, namely, Earth-One and Earth-Two, according to Den of Geek.
Meanwhile, "The Flash" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter to express his sadness over the death of Eddie (Rick Cosnett). When asked when he thought or killing Eddie off from "The Flash," Kreisberg said, "When we decided to name him Thawnes, we hoped the audience would suspect Eddie was the Reverse-Flash because of his last name."
"We always knew Eddie would be his ancestor, but we weren't quite sure how we would end the season. The way things were moving forward, it felt like it was the best thing to do for his character," he added.
Meanwhile, Kreisberg also revealed that there will be new speedsters and villains this coming season 2, Variety noted. According to the executive producer, season 2 will revolve around how the Speedsters and villains came about.
In other news, with the success of "The Flash," Kreisberg couldn't help but admit that he is feeling the pressure to live up to what the fans have come to love about the series.
"It is a really high mark for all of us, and we feel a great deal of pressure and anxiety to live up to it because it's been so well received. As proud and as excited as we are about everything we've done this year, we really are just as proud and excited for all the things we are planning coming up," he said.
"The Flash" will return to The CW next year.
