Gillian Anderson's Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier will go deeper into the dark world of Hannibal Lecter in "Hannibal" season 3, which airs June 4 on NBC. There will be a lot of Bedelia and Hannibal scenes next season as it enters two exciting arcs according to showrunner Brian Fuller.
Since Gillan Anderson becomes a series regular in "Hannibal" season 3, her character, Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier will be seen more often in NBC's psychological thriller. In fact, in the first episode of series 3 titled, "Antipasto" is all about her relationship with Hannibal Lectre (Mads Mikkelsen).
The season 3 opener will have four different periods and three of them will center on the different parts of Hannibal and Bedelia's story. The preview for the third season teases the two living in Europe, marking a "completely new Hannibal," as per Hugh Dancy, who plays Will Graham, revelation.
One of the most exciting tidbits in the preview is the scene where Hannibal asks Dr. Maurier if she's going to observe or participate as she watches a person crawl in front of Lectre. Anderson teases that her character "could be as dark as Hannibal" if she fully decides to plunge into his dark world.
Creator Brian Fuller said that "Hannibal" season 3 will treat its diehards with two different arcs. According to a report, the first seven episodes, which titles are based on Italian cuisines, will follow the events in the series 4 finale, where the episode ended with a bloodbath after Hannibal's showdown with Will, Jack, and Alana.
The remaining episodes will have the Red Dragon storyline, starting in episode 8 titled, "The Great Red Dragon." The second arc will center on The Tooth Fairy, which will be played by "The Hobbit"'s Richard Armitage. The episodes' titles are based on William Blake's painting titles or Revelation quotes, reveals Fuller.
Fans cannot wait for "Hannibal" season 3 that sees more appearances from Gillian Anderson' Bedelia, who will be going dark with Hannibal Lectre. During the second arc of the third season, Richard Armitage's The Tooth Fairy will be introduced, bringing more thrills to the hit series.
