Felix Lariviere, hair designer for X-Men: Apocalypse confirms in a recent tweet that the mutant Psylocke, who will be played by Olivia Munn, will sport a short purple hair. Moreover, Director Bryan Singer has just recently posted in his Instagram account a new mutant character that has the ability to talk with animals as a tease on what fans would expect on X-Men: Apocalypse, which is scheduled for release on May 27, 2016.
In response to a fan who asked about the Psylocke's hair color, Lariviere responded in a tweet, "Yes, she is purple". In the comics, Psylocke is the twin sister of Captain Britain who had naturally blonde hair before coloring it purple when she became a model. This becomes the character's trademark, which is a fan-favorite. Psylocke's real name is Betsy Braddock, the mutant's alter ego who displayed several superhuman abilities such as telepathy and the ability to create psi-bolts and a "psychic knife / katana". Psylocke joins an organization called Strike, and later falls in love with Tom Lennox, a fellow operative.
Meanwhile, X-Men Apocalypse director Bryan Singer recently posted in his Instagram account a new mutant character that communicates with animals in addition to a shout-out to Assistant Director Josh McLagen. Danielle Moonstar who plays Mirage a.k.a. Psyche who has the ability to make life-like illusions to fool enemies, but her other power which she was born with is the ability to talk to animals is quite interesting. Her weapon of choice is a bow-and-arrow, which is featured to be the weapon of men in X-Men Apocalypse.
