‘The Divergent Series: Allegiant, Part 1’ Spoilers: Shailene Woodley’s Tris Will Still Die in the End; Nadia Hilker and Bill Skarsgård Join Cast, Production Started Filming

The book fans of the highly popular sci-fi adventure film series "Divergent" based on novels by Veronica Roth, will surely be disappointed as recently, Roth herself insisted in an interview that fewer changes will happen in the third movie "Allegiant, Part 1." She also suggested that Tris will still die in the end. Meanwhile, as the production began filming last week, Nadia Hilker has been cast as Nita while Bill Skarsgård also joins as fan favorite Matthew in the upcoming two-part finale.

As a brief background, the book fans of the "Divergent" series already know that Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) will be good as dead in the conclusion. And while online petitions have emerged that fans do not want the protagonist to be killed and a reinvention to the plot is being insisted that Tris will have her happy ending, the author of the "Divergent" novels has spoken up lately that she cannot accommodate the fans' request.

"I wrote 'Allegiant' that way because I thought that was the way it needed to be told, and so I feel very strongly about it, obviously," she told Vulture. So that actually implied that the denouement will never be altered. In fact, Roth also said that she initially consulted Woodley on her thoughts about the ending of the story and the actress even gave her affirmation about it.

The final book to the trilogy "Allegiant" will be joining the bandwagon of splitting finales into two movies with the examples of "The Hunger Games" and "Twilight." "Allegiant: Part 1" will pick up from the last events of "Insurgent," which was released earlier this year. Tris and her co-faction members will finally embark to see what's behind the gate. The movie is slated to release on March 18, 2016. It will be followed by "Allegiant: Part 2," which will mostly center on the discovery of the origin of their factions and the tests done to the city of Chicago. It will hit theaters on March 24, 2017. Both of the films will be shot separately though, unlike the "Mockingjay" Parts 1 and 2.

Meanwhile, Lionsgate announced on Wednesday that the cast and crew of "Allegiant: Part 1" have started filming in Atlanta. Almost all of the actors including Tris' love interest Four/Tobias Eaton (Theo James) will be back. "The Fault In Our Stars" actor Ansel Elgort is also reprising his role as the traitorous brother of Tris, Caleb Prior. Similarly, returning cast members from "Divergent" and "Insurgent" are Octavia Spencer, Naomi Watts, Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Keiynan Lonsdale, and among others.

In addition, it has been confirmed that Nadia Hilker will be joining as Nita in the upcoming sequel. Nita is a member of Bureau of Genetic Welfare; in the book, she trapped Four in the web of lies. Similarly, Bill Skarsgård has been cast as the fan favorite Matthew. Skarsgård's character is also a part of the said organization, but unlike Nita, he will be helpingTris to win the battle. Moreover, it was also reported that Jeff Daniels was cast as David, the head of the Bureau of Genetic Welfare. For those of you who are puzzling about this organization, they are the ones who have created the five factions in the city of Chicago.

Fair enough. But we don't know for sure what's going to happen, okay? For now, do you want the original ending, or the altered one? Do you think it is smart that "Allegiant" followed the trend of splitting the movie into two? What are your prospects on the upcoming first-part sequel? Share your insights on the comments section.
