‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Half Shell’ Update: Live-Action Krang Allegedly Included as a Villain; Bebop and Rocksteady Confirmed to Appear in 2016 Sequel

With only a year before its debut on the big screen, the major details of the upcoming sequel to last year's 3D science fiction comedy film "TMNT" entitled "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Half Shell" are already disclosing as it was recently reported that the villainous General Krang will be featured in the sequel. And to excite fans, the duo Bebop and Rocksteady are confirmed to be appearing in the film to premiere in 2016.

Paramount Pictures' "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Half Shell" will be opening in summer next year, and as a preparation, the production has already started filming in New York City. While most of the cast will be reprising their roles, an addition will be included to wreak some havoc in the heroes' way. According to an unnamed Cinema Blend insider, General Krang, also known as a disembodied brain, will be having his live-action debut as a bad guy.

To back it up, the website claims that the scene of Krang arriving on Earth has already been filmed. In that particular scene, the insider described that the villain will travel to the planet via a portal and a number of his followers, presumably, will greet him. Krang was actually a character created for the "TMNT" TV animated series. He is a warlord from another dimension called Dimension X. After he lost his body, he came to earth and teamed up with Shredder, who provided a robotic body for him in exchange for his high-tech base known as the Technodrome.

However, it is unclear whether the studio will put him as via CGI or some kind of special effects. Meanwhile, in addition to Krang, the two powerful turtles Bebop and Rocksteady will also be part of the franchise's second installment. As a brief background, Bebop is a mutated warthog, and Rocksteady is a transmuted rhinoceros. They initially appeared in the 1987 "TMNT" cartoon.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Half Shell" is slated to be released on June 3, 2016. Most of the live-action and voice actors will be returning back including Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, and William Fichtner as Eric Sacks.

In addition, Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen from "Arrow," has also been cast as the hockey mask-wearing vigilante Casey Jones. Tyler Perry will portray Baxter Stockman while, Brian Tee will be playing as the new and improved Shredder.
