With the massive success of the Japanese animated feature film "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F" in Japan last April, the distributors didn't much as hesitate to share it worldwide as it was recently reported that the movie will be hitting the US theaters and the movie houses of 74 countries worldwide starting this summer. Desperate not to end the hype, a manga adaptation dedicated to "Dragon Ball Z" will also be released in August.
Toei Company's "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F" debuted in Japan on April 18, 2015. It is the nineteenth feature film based on the "Dragon Ball series" and is the second movie to be supervised by franchise creator Akira Toriyama. The narrative centers in the resurrection and revenge of the infamous villain named Frieza. Leads Goku and Vegeta will also team up to beat this hell of a monster.
Likewise, being the first movie to be released in 3D IMAX Digital in Japan and having been shown in 4DX theaters, "Resurrection F" has surprisingly surpassed the success of the "Fast and Furious 7" in the country. And with the irrepressible achievement, reports state that it has also dominated theaters in Hong Kong, Brazil, Chile, and Venezuela.
And now that it has been enjoyed by most countries in Asia, the distributors would be deemed offensive not to share the movie to the world, wouldn't they? Consequently, reports claim that an English version of the "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F" is coming to US theaters this summer. Hence, the voices of the lead characters will be dubbed in native English. Chris Ayres will be the voice actor for Frieza, while Chris Sabat will be voicing for Vegeta and Sean Schemmel for Son Goku. As well, it is somewhat a big envy as the Japanese subtitled version of the movie was screened already last April 11 at the Grauman's Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles.
As much as that is exciting, fans from North America are not the only ones getting it this summer as Inquisitr reports that the film will be hitting the movie houses in 74 countries worldwide. Having been only released in a scarce number of countries, "Resurrection F" has already proved its dominance in everyone's summer movie marathon list. With 960 million yen (US$8.1 M) in its first two days and a prediction of 5 billion at Japan domestic box office, a sequel might be the main priority now of the production. In point of fact, 2013's "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods" has reached over $50M worldwide and this promising "Resurrection F" will definitely topple the digits.
"Dragon Ball Z" Manga Adaptation and "Dragon Ball Z Super" out before "Resurrection F"
Meanwhile, to probably help the promotion of the movie, a new manga adaptation dedicated to the "Dragon Ball Z" franchise will debut this August with Akira Toriyama's supervision. The said adaptation will be released in the V Jump magazine August issue. However, no further announcements have been revealed regarding its plot.
Furthermore, the previously reported "Dragon Ball Z Super" TV series will premiere on Fuji TV this July and will be aired Sundays at 9:00 a.m. The said series is set a few years after Goku defeated the villainous Majin Buu. Anime News Network reports that this will be the first new "Dragon Ball" TV series since the "Dragon Ball GT," which last aired in 1997.
