Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Release Confirmed on November for Xbox One, PS4, PC; Treyarch still considers PS3 and Xbox 360 versions?

By

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 will be released in November by Treyarch. However, there are still questions about its development, gameplay, and features, which gamers would find the answers to interesting. In addition to this, an important matter on this FPS title is whether it will still support last gen consoles, or not anymore.

Twitter has been very helpful in giving updates about Call of Duty Black Ops 3, as this is where fans would post most of their questions. Last week, a user asked if the title will still support older generation consoles like Xbox 360 and PS3. The design director of Treyarch showed a strain in his response as it read, "I feel like a broken record RN. The only announcement made was that @Treyarch is developing PS4, Xbox One, and PC."

The thing with this statement is that it did not deny having BO3 for PS3 and Xbox 360 at all. This led to speculations that there will still be the said versions, but maybe at a later time. Perhaps the versions for newer gen consoles will arrive in November 6, while the others would just follow. If this is the case, then it would be just like how it went with Advanced Warfare.

According to a games report, two separate developers handled the game. For Xbox 360 and PS3, High Moon Studios was the one to develop. Likewise, Sledgehammer Games took charge of making Advanced Warfare for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Speculations believe that there is still a chance to support older gen systems, and an announcement might come in E3 this June.

When it comes to features of Call of Duty Black Ops 3, a lot of queries were raised on social media. The director of development managed to answer them, though some still needed follow up. For instance, a user asked if players still had to hold on the prone/crouch button as with BO2, considering that setup didn't feel efficient.

Twitter user pcdev answered, "Crouch / Prone / Change stance controls are configurable. You don/t have to keep the default settings." The user also shared that TAC 3.0 will be launched to focus on stopping hackers from compromising the game. As for DX12 support, more details will be revealed this year.

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 will be coming for newer gen consoles on November 6, 2015. Fans who are still using PS3 and Xbox 360 should hope for future updates or an announcement in E3 to hear that their devices would still be supported. More news and reveals on the game to come.
