Red Dead Redemption 2 has stepped on its 5-year mark in making its fans high with anticipation in terms of release announcements or really good information on gameplay and features. The Rockstar Games franchise originally came to surface last May 18, 2010. At this point, players are simply keeping a vigilant eye to find out what comes next for John Marston.
The original title was deemed in AttackoftheFanBoy as the "spiritual successor to Red Dead Revolver" although the former served as a very fresh game in its own right. It should be noted that Red Dead Redemption was well-received by fans, being able to bag a lot of sales and even awards. It is just right that a sequel would be in the works.
The same report goes through how the storyline gameplay of Red Dead Redemption was, where the time was set in 1911 with the adventures of John Marston. The title had a tragic end as the protagonist had to sacrifice himself so as not to get his wife and son killed. The game did not conclude here. Rather, there was a fast forward to a time when Jack Marston, John's son, becomes the new lead. This hints the theme of 'revenge' for the upcoming sequel.
Apart from its gripping storyline, Red Dead Redemption was also hailed for its flexible gameplay, with numerous missions on the side. This made the title comparable to another one of Rockstar Games' most successful franchises, Grand Theft Auto. It also featured an online multiplayer that supports up to 16 users. Not to mention, there have been a few DLCs available, with Undead Nightmare being an expansion to highlight.
With that said, and with a report from Express UK pointing out the financial results of Take-Two Interactive in 2015, speculations on Red Dead Redemption 2 coming some time in 2016 became more powerful. However, there is still some question as to whether it would be the said title or Mafia 3, another renowned game from 2k, which would make the cut before March 31, 2016.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is certainly a triple A title that many fans are eyeing to see soon. Gamers have to hope that Take Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K and Rockstar Games, would make the best call in this matter and go for the right title.
