According to rumors, the most awaited sequel of 'Fifty Shades of Grey', 'Fifty Shades Darker' is set to run on a suspense-laden plot, and will be more of a thriller. This was confirmed by Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley. The film will be based on E.L. James' second novel, which will reveal more of Christian Grey's past.
The recently-released teaser trailer that left audiences with the question 'Are you ready for something darker?' showed Christian Grey donning a black mask. There have been talks that this will play a huge part in the upcoming movie. In the book, Christian invites Ana to a masquerade party - it's where the couple runs into several new faces.
As Christian and Anastasia attempts to reconcile, Mrs. Robinson appears - Charlize Theron is set to play the character - and at one point during the party, she tells Ana that Christian is still in love with her. Mrs. Robinson also threatened Ana that she would come after her, if she ever hurts Christian again.
Fans should also watch out for the characters of Leila Williams, Christian's former submissive-turned-stalker, and Jack Hyde Anastasia's new maniac boss. Their roles may have something to do with the movie's thriller plot.
Cara Delevingne is being considered to play the role of Leila. As for Jack Hyde's character, five actors are are being rumored to play it. Reports named Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jai Courtney, Wes Bentley, Shawn Ashmore, and the fan-favorite Henry Cavill, who is also the current Superman.
The sequel will pick up right where the first installment ended - with Christian and Ana's sudden breakup. Producer of the film Dana Brunetti tweeted some spoilers for the highly anticipated sequel too, wherein he posted a picture of himself wearing a tux, and the iconic 'Darker' mask. He added a caption saying 'It's dark. Off to do some research'. It will hit the theaters on February 10, 2015.
