Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone Back in Spider-man? Asa Butterfield Withdraws Peter Parker Role?

By

Sony Entertainment and Marvel Studios have officially called off the sequel to the Spidey series, The Amazing Spider-Man 3. The apparent reason for this cancellation traces back to the temperamental actor, Andrew Garfield who had made a no show at the Rio de Janeiro event last year 2014. The 31 year old actor was then ousted from the franchise and had then let many Spider-man fans hanging on for any updates.

Well, the good news is that Marvel had bought the rights for Spiderman from Sony. And according to recent rumors, Marvel will be reinventing the friendly neighborhood hero with its first appearance which will be in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie.

Marvel is definitely looking for an actor that can fill the part of a high school student. So this would mean that neither Andrew Garfield nor Toby Maguire will be taken in for the part. The new Spider-man role would require a mix of a high school nerd and web swinging spidey. And according to most reports, Marvel had its eyes set on 18 year old British actor, Asa Butterfield who starred in the 2013 film Ender's Game.

It's a good move for Marvel and Sony to be bringing a fresh face and reviving the nerdy school boy Peter Parker, but this would not mean that the films where Andrew Garfield had been in were no good. Garfield was a good Peter Parker, but he wasn't good enough for fans and critics. And to top it off, he was in a dark place that his real life sweetheart, Emma Stone left him.

But now, it would seem that Andrew and Emma are back in each other's arms as the two were spotted together. The two were spotted out in public in LA on a grocery shopping trip. And it would seem that Andrew was out of that dark place which led him to be ousted in the Spiderman franchise. He appeared cleaner and gave a positive vibe being together with Emma.

Would Marvel and Sony notice the change in Andrew and give him back the role of Spider-man? Or will they stick with the Asa Butterfield high school nerdy boy? Would Asa be a perfect fits for the role of Spider-man? Or will he be replaced when Spider-man comes face to face with the Avengers and other characters in the Marvel universe?
