The long awaited arrival of the flagship killer successor, OnePlus Two has been confirmed by the OnePlus CEO Pete Lau. The high-end OnePlus Two, whose predecessor OnePlus One had become the most talked about smart phone last year, will be launched at the third quarter of this year 2015. Reports have claimed that the OnePlus Two will cost $400 by the time of its invite-only release.
Earlier this month, Pete Lau had expressed proudly the impressive features and specs of the upcoming OnePlus Two. This is in line with the company's goal to compete head-on with the flagship smart phones of huge manufacturing companies namely Samsung, Apple and HTC. The flagship killer successor is to take on upon its release the powerful flagship releases of 2015 such as the Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC OneM9 and the upcoming iPhone. However, being the company as it is, it will be producing a device that is at par with these flagships and at the same time half the price of its competitors.
According to reports, the OnePlus Two will be sporting a 5.5 inch screen display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. Although there had been many reports regarding the Snapdragon 810 regarding its tendency to overheat, OnePlus will be taking the risk for their flagship killer successor. The OnePlus Two will be sporting also a longer battery life of 3300 mAh. Perhaps this will be the answer to the battery issue experienced by smart phone users.
Regarding the price of the OnePlus Two, a question was posted by Liu Zuohu, OnePlus CEO, regarding the public's view on how much will the device cost given that it will be sporting a Snapdragon 810. The post had several replies but in the end, the Zuohu had declared that $400 or CNY 2,499 is a reasonable price.
The price might be set at $400 range, but all the specs and other speculated features will be confirmed at its launch date. Keeping its invite-only strategy, the OnePlus Two will be able to attain the interest of the fans and thus maintain its status as a flagship killer.
