"Arrow" season 4 will premiere in a few months and ahead of its release, fans already found out that Harley Quinn and Oliver Queen's highly-anticipated battle will not take place for now.
According to MTV News, the creators of "Arrow" have always pegged for the fight to happen. However, since Harley will star in the upcoming movie, "Suicide Squad," this particular plot has to take a back seat in the meantime.
In a previous interview with Collider, "Arrow" producer Mark Guggenheim explained their decision to include Harley in the sophomore season of the hit series.
"I want to manage expectations with respect to Harley Quinn. She has always intended to be an Easter egg. I don't want to go in with incorrect expectations and walk away from Episode 16 disappointed," he said.
Meanwhile, Willa Holland, who plays the role of Willa Queen, previously confirmed that Harley should have had a bigger role on "Arrow" ahead of "Suicide Squad's" release.
"We had big plans for Harley. But, I guess something came down from DC execs that told us to shut it down. I mean we had that tease with the pigtails and the A.R.G.U.S. outfit, but we'll never see it. We would love to have Harley in 'Arrow' but it will never happen," she said.
Additionally, there have been reports that the creators of "Suicide Squad" made sure that Harley and other fan favorites won't appear on "Arrow," IBTimes noted.
"Margot Robbie being cast as the character in David Ayer's 'Suicide Squad' movie left both Harley and Task Force X off limits to The CW series," the publication noted.
"Arrow" season 4 is expected to premiered on The CW this coming September. "Suicide Squad" starring Jared Leto is slated for release on August 5, 2016. The film also stars supermodel Cara Delevingne, Will Smith, Ben Affleck, Jai Courtney and more.
