‘Mission Impossible 6’ Release Date, Plot: Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner still in the film; Director's chair gets new owner?

By

'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation' won't be released in theaters until the end of July, but talks have been made that 'Mission Impossible 6' is already in the works.

Reports have confirmed that Tom Cruise, Paula Patton, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner will be reprising their roles for the franchise.

It's still in the early stages of development, so the release date for the sixth installment is not yet available. What's sure is, the series likes to put years between their films. Cast members also have other commitments - Jeremey Renner has a contract with Marvel, Pegg still has 'Star Trek 3' and Cruise might be on board the 'Jack Reacher' sequel.

There has been no word on who will direct 'Mission Impossible 6,' not even any word on who is being eyed for the job. Nevertheless, rumor has it that it would be a newcomer in the industry. Why the change in director?

Well, one of the most interesting factors that managed to keep the franchise popular, through the years, is introducing new directors. Think of it as a way to keep the tradition alive. So far, all directors have turned out to be amazingly skilled in the 'Mission Impossible' genre.

The 'Mission Impossible' series has been a blockbuster option for moviegoers for almost 20 years. What's crazy is, Tom Cruise will again be doing all the stunts by himself for the upcoming sequel.

Paramount Pictures, Bad Robot, and Skydance Productions are overseeing the development, along with returning producers are Tom Cruise, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and J.J. Abrams.

In 'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation', Cruise returns as Impossible Missions Force agent Ethan Hunt. He and his team take on the mission to eradicate the Syndicate - an International rogue organization as highly skilled as they are, committed to destroying the IMF.

Parts of the movie were shot in London, Morocco, and Monaco. 'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation' was scheduled for a Christmas release, but it has been moved in July due to a James Bond film, titled 'Spectre', that's coming out in November.
