"Outlander" is nearing its season one finale in an episode titled, "To Ransom A Man's Soul." The last episode is expected to show Jamie's successful escape from Black Jack, however, the torture continues even while he remains outside the confines of Wentworth Prison. "Outlander" is getting darker, as every episode goes by. The Starz time traveller series was adapted from Diana Gabaldon's eight-book series, which has taken the entire world of television by storm. The penultimate episode showed Black Jack Randall's (Tobias Menzies) physical and mental torture on Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).
As seen on the latest promo clip for the last episode of "Outlander," Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) successfully gets Jamie out of prison using cows to break the prison door. While fans may think that the torture ends with Jamie's escape from Wentworth Prison, what happened inside the cell with Black Jack will continue to haunt him and leave him mentally and emotionally scarred.
"To Ransom A Man's Soul" will still include some "incredibly graphic scenes," as Jamie recounts to his wife the details of what happened at Wentworth Prison with Black Jack, E! News reported. The outlet noted, however, that the series will still end on "a positive note" and that "Outlander" season one finale is "not all doom and gloom."
Meanwhile, actress Caitriona Balfe revealed that she had no idea about Diana Gabaldon's book series before she signed up for "Outlander." Speaking to Herald, the 35-year-old actress also admitted that she is still overwhelmed by the success of the series and the support she has received from fans all over the world. Balfe was once a model for high fashion brands including Victoria's Secret and Dolce & Gabbana, but if given the choice, the actress admitted to choose acting over modeling.
"I love the show and the fact that it's getting recognized and my work is getting recognized is really incredible," Balfe said.
"Outlander" season 1 finale episode titled, "To Ransom A Man's Soul" airs on May 30 on Starz.
