"Empire" cast member Serayah McNeill recently weighed in on the upcoming second season of the hit Fox series. According to her, season 2 could be as equally successful as season 1.
During a recent interview with Billboard, McNeill expressed her confidence over "Empire's" ability to live up to the expectations of its fans.
"You know what? I think we have awesome writers, awesome directors, producers to make this thing happen, so I'm just excited to see where it all goes," she said.
McNeill, who plays the role of R&B songstress Tiana, also weighed in on her character's relationship with Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere "Yazz" Gray). Although nothing has been finalized yet, McNeill said that there is a possibility for Tiana and Hakeem to reunite in season 2.
"I don't know! I don't know! They might get back together... hopefully. I think personally, I think she should play him! No! It'd be great for them to get back together," she said.
However, it was recently confirmed that Hakeem's fling Camilla, played by supermodel Naomi Campbell, will return in season 2. This could result in Tiana and Hakeem's relationship being put in a much greater test. Meanwhile, McNeill also talked about what she wants her character to achieve in season 2. According to the actress, she wants Tiana to have a new song next season, IBTimes noted.
In other news, Taraji P. Henson, who plays the role of Cookie Lyon, recently talked about her onscreen partner, Terrence Howard, who plays the role of Lucious Lyon. During an interview with E! News, Henson dubbed Howard as one of her coolest male friends while slamming speculations that they could be an item.
"He's like one of my coolest male friends in life. So he hates that. Because you have to keep them, the boys, you have to keep them professional. You can't help if they get aroused. Every time we lay there, he kept talking to his male member, 'Don't do that! No, don't! Taraji's gonna punch me!'" she joked.
"Empire" season 2 will return to Fox this fall.
