Warner Bros. hired five writers for 'Wonder Woman'; Plot embraces Amazonian princess' old age; Tiger sidekick cancelled?

By

Greg Silverman of Warner Bros. Production revealed that they hired five writers for competing versions of the "Wonder Woman" trilogy. Each was given a different treatment and asked to write a first act. Two writers were then chosen to continue, including Jason Fuchs, who wrote "Ice Age: Continental Drift."

It's also been revealed that "Wonder Woman" is an immortal superhero and has been alive for centuries - and the upcoming movies will embrace her true age. Keeping up with the comic book origins, the Amazon princess will be hundreds of years old.

According to rumors, "Wonder Woman" was supposed to have a tiger sidekick, an intelligent pet that the princess could talk to, and interact with. Director Michelle McLaren originally came up with the idea. However, she dropped the project after Warner Bros. vetoed on the idea.

The studio seriously considered Angelina Jolie to replace McLaren. But, because of some unknown reason, they picked another director. It was recently announced that the franchise will be directed by Patty Jenkins - originally chosen for "Thor: The Dark World."

Talks have been made that the plot will begin with Wonder Woman's homeland, where war has broken out. The movie may combine the classic and New 52 origin, wherein in the latter, she was introduced as the demigod daughter of Zeus.

So far, the first trailer for "Batman vs. Superman" has not featured the Amazonian superhero. Fans are hoping that the second teaser will feature a glimpse of the new "Wonder Woman", as well as Cyborg and Aquaman.

Nevertheless, we'll have an answer soon enough. "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be hitting theaters on March 25, 2016. Fans need to get ready for a modern, and edgier, "Wonder Woman". The Amazon princess will be played by Gal Gadot, who became famous for her role as Gisele Yashar in "The Fast and the Furious" film series.
