BBC One's most beloved timelord will be back in Doctor Who Season 9 along with possible come back of supposedly dead characters such as the Doctor's wife River Song and his number one fan Osgood.
Last January, BBC has announced that they have already started filming Doctor Who Season 9 in Cardiff, Wales with the 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi and his companion Jenna Colesman. They were filming episodes that are written by Being Human's Toby Whithouse
Executive Producer Steven Moffat shared a few details about the two part episodes.
"An amazing guest cast for a brilliantly creepy two-parter by Toby Whithouse. Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman are back in Cardiff, back in the box, and back in action - for one of our scariest adventures yet!"
Confirmed stars of series 9 are Game of Thrones actor Paul Kaye, Doctor Who Season 8's Michelle Gomez as Missy and Ingrid Oliver reprising her role as Osgood, the Doctor's number one earthling fan.
In addition, there might a possiblity that the wife of the Doctor River Song, played by Alex Kingston.
In an interview with Radio Times, Moffat said that he's ruling out the possiblity of a comeback of River Song. "It entirely depends on whether we've got a good story... I have a sort of worry about keeping anybody around in the Doctor's life for too long. Because he's the man who leaves. He's the man who outlives everybody: that's his story. In the end it's the boy in his box, and he's alone. In the end if we had a great story, we'd do it."
Game of Thrones should be psyched with this series because it is confirmed: Maisie Williams (Arya Stark in HBO's Game of Thrones) will guest star in Doctor Who Season 9!
Williams her eagerness saying, "I'm so excited to be working on Doctor Who as it's such a big and important part of British culture."
In that note, Whovians in Britain and all over the world celebrated a decade of Doctor Who last March 26, the exact date when the first episode of the new Doctor Who was aired. It started with the 9th Doctor who was played by Christopher Eccleston.
