The Wicked + The Divine Comic book series would now soon be a television series as Universal Television has bought the rights to the comics and will be producing it as a TV series.
The Wicked + the Divine Comic book has been consistently in the Eisner Nomination and has grabbed 3 awards. Comic fans are celebrating because they would soon see their favorite TWTD characters come to life on television. TWTD comic book was created by Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie and Matt Wilson. It was launched last year and won the 2014 British Comic Awards. To date, TWTD has released 10 single issues, and the 11th issue is soon to release on the 3rd of June.
TWTD is published by Image Comics. It is intended to run for a maximum of 60 comic issues under Image Comics. The Wicked + the Divine comic book focuses on the story of a group of people called "The Pantheon". The Pantheon used to be normal people but then they were chosen to become one with the spirit of a deity possessing superhuman powers in their new body. However, the Pantheon could not live long as they die after two years of being reincarnated here on earth. But then, they will be reincarnated again after 90 years. Another exciting and entertaining TV series adaptation will soon be capturing the hearts of fantasy-loving fans, comic fan or not.
Since the Universal Television opted to buy the rights for TV series with Fraction and DeConnick, owner of company Milkfed Criminal Masterminds, as producers, fans of The Wicked + the Divine Comic book could also expect new concepts as the stories of the comics are adapted for a TV show.
As of press time, there were no further details as to when the producers start to work on the TV Adaptation. Casting for the main characters in the comic strip is something to lok forward to as well. It will certainly be just a matter of time, so fans have to hang on for more updates.
