‘Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F’ Update: Movie to Hit US in August, English-Dubbed Trailer Released; ‘DBZ Super’ TV Series to Feature New Villain?

The considerable success of the Japanese animated feature film "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F" in Japan last April has made the producers to bring it to US, as in fact, Funimation will be releasing the English-dubbed version of the popular film in August. Meanwhile, the "Dragon Ball Super" TV series has been reported to feature a new villain much stronger than Majin Buu or even Frieza.

It was previously reported that the "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F" is going to hit US theaters in summer. And while that wasn't verified by the distributors, a new report officially states that the English-dubbed version of the hit Japanese feature film will finally be going out in North America in August. However, there is a catch. Funimation, the US licensor of the "Dragon Ball" series, is going to screen it only for over a week from August 4-12.

"We are thrilled to bring fans - both new and old - this latest film from series creator Akira Toriyama. Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' is a visually stunning movie and offers even more action and comedy than Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods," said Funimation CEO Gen Fukunaga. To make it thrilling, the trailer for the English version has also been released.

In the said teaser, the voices of the lead characters have been dubbed in native English. Chris Ayres is the voice actor for Frieza, while Chris Sabat is voicing for Vegeta and Sean Schemmel for Son Goku. The "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F" or "Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu No F" is the nineteenth feature film based on the "Dragon Ball series" and is the second movie to be supervised by franchise creator Akira Toriyama.

The plot centers in the resurrection and revenge of the villain named Frieza. Leads Goku and Vegeta will also team up to beat the monster, but will be having a trouble due to Frieza's new form "Golden Frieza." Tickets for the film aren't on sale yet, but fans can sign up on the "Dragon Ball Z" website to receive updates regarding the ticket selling.

Meanwhile, the TV series "Dragon Ball Super" has been reported to feature a new villain much stronger than Majin Buu or even Frieza. According to Youth Health Mag, Fuji TV producer Osamu Nozaki is the one who revealed the news. Fans speculate that the villain will be named Broly or God-Broly.

The said TV series will premiere on Fuji TV this July and will be aired Sundays at 9:00 a.m. It is set a few years after Goku defeated the villainous Majin Buu. In some rumors, it is said that the "Dragon Ball Super" will begin after a year of where "Resurrection F" left off. "Super" will be the first new "Dragon Ball" TV series since the "Dragon Ball GT," which last aired in 1997.

Moreover, accompanying that is a new manga adaptation dedicated to the "Dragon Ball Z" franchise, Venture Capital Post previously reported. This new manga adaptation will debut this August under Akira Toriyama's supervision. It will be released in the V Jump magazine August issue. Though, no further announcements have been revealed regarding its plot.
