By

Both Samsung flagship products, Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S5 have received their fair share of flak when it comes to battery life. Of course, nobody in the smartphone business - at least not yet - has found a final solution to this age-old problem which is as perennial as Android and iOS itself - two OS that dealt the final blows to the extinction of Nokia as a flourishing business on Planet Earth.

Recently, even the much-awaited Android Lollipop updates specifically 5.0 has fallen short in the Battery Improvement Department both in the US and abroad. And so for any Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5 smartphone user worth his salt who have lingered for an answer with regards to the battery problem we've rounded up these quick, easy tips in order to get as much juice from your mobile - without losing a shirt or breaking the bank.

1.) Avoid heat.

You may find it strange but heat drains your battery's Li-ion battery faster than you can replenish it. So as much as possible do not leave your S4 or for that matter your Galaxy S5 unattended in high-temperature environment.

2.) Recharge as much as needed.

This is a sensitive topic but right off the bat widely-accepted concept that says you need to drain your battery to charge it, are baseless. That actually works for older batteries, those type-nickel-based battery which are running obsolete.

So it's safe to recharge your Samsung Galaxy S4 or your Samsung Galaxy S5 when it's but it's still at 50% battery loss. Of course, overcharging is a no-no as it can cause a bit of degradation.

3.) Shun wireless chargers.

You could be jumping for joy the first time you saw your wireless charger. However in the charging deparment it's wired charging that rules.

Wireless chargers, even those official Samsung ones, can expedite the accumulation of excess heat in your battery and may in turn cause it to lose shape and bulge. So if you're not one wont to buy a new battery every time, shun the wire-free service.

4.) Turn off not needed services.

Mobile data/Wi-Fi and GPRS can eat your battery life bit by bit. Turning them off can add to your smartphone's juice incrementally. Of course, you can proceed to turn them on when needed.

5.) Max on screen timeout.

Toggling this feature could be a real battery saver for your fave Samsung smartphone, although largely common in most mobile devices today. What this does is it automatically shuts off your screen when you're busy fiddling with other tasks other than your text/call device.

6.) Max on power-saving mode.

This is a heaven-sent and is one feature that Samsung has capitalized first in the industry. Most especially useful for the Samsung Galaxy S5 model which boasts of two options: basic power-saving and Ultra power-saving.

The above tweaks are practical tips. Although it does not add needed power to your battery, it manages your battery consumption so you get to utilize it for a longer stretch. Most useful for avid users for both flagship products, Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S5.
