Sony looks to have something big in its back pocket, or at least that's what it looks like, given a new Playstation 4 model with a 1TB hard drive has just been recently spotted.

The news comes courtesy of certification documents found on the US Federal Communications Commission, otherwise known as the FCC, according to Dual Shockers.

The two new models are identified by specific numbers so far.

First off, is model CUH-1215B, and this is the one that has people talking. According to Gamespot, this is the new model of the Playstation 4 which will be featuring the spacious 1TB of hard drive.

The second model, which would be CUH-1215A, has a smaller capacity, sporting a 500GB hard drive.

Aside from the size of the hard drive, there appears to be no other remarkable differences between the two Playstation 4 models, though both of them are slightly different when compared to the older variants.

For instance, both CUH-1215A and CUH-1215B feature amperage of 2.5.1.1.5 A which is different from the older models which feature 2.3-9.95 A.

The new models also differ in terms of the amount of power they generate, with both capable of 230 watts. The older models were capable of producing 250 watts. The two new models of the Playstation 4 are also slightly lighter, weighing in at 2.5 kilograms to the older versions which came in at 2.8 kilograms.

Despite some changes being made to the hardware, it appears no full-scale redesigns appear to be coming, according to IGN.

The change in hard drive capacity is interesting, however, it should be noted that Playstation 4 owners already had the power to upgrade the hard drives which were currently installed on their units.

If Sony is indeed planning to reveal two new models of the Playstation 4, the safe bet would be to say that news will be revealed at the upcoming E3 conference.
