Preparations are being made for the new upcoming Marvel film, Doctor Strange, as actors are now being casted for the film. Benedict Cumberbatch reportedly needs to buff up for his role, and talks about Tilda Swinton joining the cast, to play the role of the Ancient One, is going on.
The Imitation Game star, Benedict Cumberbatch, is reportedly preparing his body for the role of Doctor Strange. It seems like Cumberbatch has to spend lots of his time in the gym, as he has to beef up for his character. This is especially critical because he needs to have those muscles by November, when they officially start filming for the movie.
Although buffing up seem to be a challenge since Cumberbatch has a naturally skinny body, it is reportedly not new to him since he has prior experience to it when he had to buff up for his role, Khan, in Star Trek: Into Darkness.
Another actor who is being prepared for the role is Tinda Swinton, as talks are reportedly going on for her to join the cast of the upcoming film. She will play the role of the Ancient One, a 500 year-old Tibetan mystic who will become Doctor Strange's mentor.
Although in the original comics, the Ancient One is a male, Marvel Studios reportedly decided otherwise, as Ancient One will now be a female character.
Rumors are also brewing about the possibility that in the upcoming film, Doctor Strange will meet the character of "Death", as the movie's director, Scott Derrickson posted a picture on Twitter of a 1974 comic book entitled, "Doctor Strange Meets...Death!". In the book, Doctor Strange comes across the mistress of Death, a hooded woman is said to be the love of Thanos' life.
The destructions on earth, and efforts of Thanos to gather all the Infinity Gems are reportedly all for her. Doctor Strange then fights with her, and ends up killing her, causing for Doctor Strange to stop aging. Although it hasn't been confirmed yet whether or not Death's character will really be included in the upcoming movie.
Doctor strange is about a former overconfident surgeon, Stephen Strange, who gets into an accident, and ends up losing the functionality of his hands. Desperate to heal himself, he finds the Ancient One and becomes the protector of the earth against evil mystic villains and sorcerers.
Doctor Strange is slated for release on November 2016.
