Dark Souls 3 set to be officially announced at E3

By

Big news from Bandai Namco is reportedly coming to E3 courtesy of the company officially announcing the Dark Souls 3.

According to VG247, the news of the announcment being made at E3 came from someone close to the matter.

As if fans wouldn't be delighted enough just to hear that Dark Souls 3 is coming soon, they also get the added bonus of the unnamed source indicating it will be Hidetaka Miyazaki directing the game. Miyazaki should be a name familiar to fans of the franchise, seeing as he directed its first installment, according to Polygon.

Miyazaki's directing chops were also on display for other successful titles such Demon's Souls, and the 2015 hit, Bloodborne. Miyazaki was also a part of Dark Souls 2. For that game, he worked as the supervisor, with Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura taking their turns as the game's directors.

Dark Souls 3 could officially be revealed on June 15 at E3, according to the unnamed source.

As tempting as it is to simply buy into the hype of Dark Souls 3 and blindly assume that the game will be officially announced at E3, fans should not forget the fact that both Bandai Namco and From Software have yet to even confirm the title itself, according to Gamespot.

While that may seem like a mere formality, refraining from making any official announcements does give the two parties the opportunity to completely scrap their E3 plans if anything goes wrong between now and the supposed release date.

Even with no confirmation, fans are still sure to be excited at the news.

Dark Souls games are known for being some of the most challenging of any modern titles out there. They also do exceedingly well with critics, so there's definitely a lot of anticipation which will be building up with the rumor now making the rounds online.
