Apple is going to release iPhone 7 having 21 MP camera with optical image stabilization and optical zoom, DSLR optics, 1920 x 1080 display resolution, and more. It is expected to come out around September 2016.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are said to have "substantial upgrades in display resolution." Specifically, the 6s is going to have a 1920 x 1080 display resolution from the current 1334 x 750 screen pixel in the iPhone 6. It was also said that the iPhone 6s Plus will be having a 2K display.
However, others are not persuaded about it and maintain that there's still going to be similar resolution.
"I'm not convinced that Apple will actually deliver such resolution increases with its new iPhones this time around," said The Motley Fool.
This is because Apple always "used the same display resolution for a given product line for at least two generations." Historically, the company sported display resolutions with:
- 480 x 320 for iPhone to iPhone 3Gs
- 960 x 640 for iPhone 4 to iPhone 4s
- 1136 x 640 for iPhone 5 to iPhone 5s
- 1334 x 750 for iPhone 6
- 1920 x 1080 for iPhone 6 Plus
Hence, there would still be the same 1334 x 750 screen pixel in the iPhone 6s and 1920 x 1080 resolution in iPhone 6s Plus. This was also tipped by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
"Screen will remain at 4.7 and 5.5 inches, with resolution the same as existing models. There will be no new 4-inch model," as reported by MacRumors.
If this is going to be the case, the claimed resolution upgrade could be well added to the iPhone 7.
"In fact the resolutions that the author on Feng.com claims could show up on the iPhone 6s/6s Plus seem to be right in the ballpark of what I would expect in the iPhone 7," concluded The Motley Fool.
Speaking about the iPhone 7, Geek Snack found it reasonable that it would be released on 2016, with the iPhone 6s to be this year. It was also known that the iPhone 7 is going to have a 21 MP camera made from Apple's recent partner, LinX.
"According to our research, sources and tips combined, the iPhone 7 camera will be a whopping 21 MP and will in fact be equipped with optical image stabilization and optical zoom," said Geek Snack
It was also expected that the camera in the iPhone 7 will have DLSR quality optics, 4K recording, and a dual-lens setup.
However, Apple is yet to release any official statement about the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7. Hence, readers should take these with a grain of salt.
