We all know that JJ Abrams is overly keen about leaks on his highly-anticipated seventh episode of the space opera Star Wars. However, fans are uncontrollable, untamable, and constantly tempted.
While there is supposed to be little to know about The Force Awakens, which will be released for theaters on December 18, a lot of spoilers have been gyrating around, one of which is Daniel Craig's cameo role in the film as a Stormtrooper.
It was since last month that Hot Fuzz and Star Trek star Simon Pegg, close friend of Abrams, and definitely is also on the rolls for a cameo, accidentally stated Craig's cameo in the Sun newspaper, saying, "I wasn't a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper," subsequently adding, "I shouldn't have said that."
Craig's cameo role spun around and kept fans wondering whether he'll be a Firetrooper or a Snowtrooper. Pegg on the other hand, hasn't confirmed what his role in the film might be. Though, he's been spotted on the set in Abu Dhabi, and in Pinewood Studios, where he was talking to alumna actor Carrie Fisher.
While the truth is that it's totally difficult to pin point who Craig will be since Stormtroopers are masked, and while we don't know exactly what Pegg's role will be, writer Jason Ward said Daniel Craig and Simon Pegg's role doesn't really "impact the overall film very much," considering the film "has the advantage of having so many masked characters that you could fill half the cast with friends and nobody would know."
However, as it has been said that he's personally 'asked' for the role, it was said that in the 'brief' appearance Craig will be having, he'll be meeting with some shady guys, seducing the Rebel princess, and go head to head against a black-dressed man.
More so, a report from Making Star Wars stated that Warwick Davis might be returning for his role as an Ewok named Wicket. It was said that the First Order, the new name of the Empire, will be returning to the wookie planet Endor to retrieve Darth Vader's mask, but would end up destroying the planet, and it will leave an 'angry' Wicket.
Among the official cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens are John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Max von Sydow, Domhnall Gleeson and Andy Serkis. There will also be a major comeback with the original Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo). The movie will begin a new trilogy which will end in 2019.
On the other hand, it was said by CinemaBlend that Craig's newest 007 film Spectre will be the last movie Sony and MGM will be doing for James Bond, as it contractually ends after the film is produced. Spectre will be out in theatres on November 6.
While only depends on Craig if he chooses to leave the Bond career after Spectre, that is if Sony fights to continue their distribution rights, Jason Statham and Idris Elba has been rumored to take on the spy role.
