Fallout 4 will feature a post-apocalyptic city of Boston as its backdrop

Fallout 4 will be calling the northeastern city of Boston its home when the game is finally ready to be released, or at least the post-apocalyptic version of the city.

In the newly-released trailer from Bethesda, fans were able to get their first close-up look of the new setting for the game, and while at no point does any disembodied voice actually identify the city as Boston, it becomes fairly obvious after seeing some of the landmarks.

Several iconic landmarks within the city were prominently featured in the trailer, according to IGN. These notable locations include the statue of Paul Revere, the Bunker Hill Monument, the Massachusetts State House, and even what looks to be Fenway Park.

While the trailer certainly succeeded in indicating exactly what city Fallout 4 will be set in, it also made sure to include a good dose of nostalgia for the loyal fans of the franchise, according to Polygon. Fans will see numerous elements of the trailer calling back to earlier versions of the game such as a shadowy figure resembling some kind of Deathclaw and even some Feral Ghouls to make the new place feel just like home.

It also looks like the player will be accompanied by a dog throughout the game, so it won't be completely lonely inside post-apocalyptic Boston.

There are also interesting audio elements included in the trailer for Fallout 4.

Most interestingly, the character who seems to be the focus of the entire trailer is voiced, and if this same character turns out to be the playable protagonist for Fallout 4, then it would mark a first for the series, according to Gamespot.

For those who may also be wondering why the voice of the trailer's narrator is so familiar, that is because the voice belongs to none other than Ron Perlman, the same actor who played Hellboy in those movies.

More news about Fallout 4 is expected to come out when Bethesda takes the stage at E3 on June 14.
