'Daddy's Home' Update: Paramount Pictures Sets A December 25 Release For Mark Wahlber and Will Ferrell's Upcoming Comedy Film

By

Paramount Pictures has just recently announced a December 25, 2015 release for Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell's forthcoming comedy film "Daddy's Home". The Christmas Comedy film will revolve around two fathers who have a different way of upbringing their child.

The newly announced premiere date, according to Nola, will pit "Daddy's Home" against a few slate of movies including the live-action kiddie comedy "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip", Sony's Will Smith drama "Concussion", Warner Bros.' remake of "Point Break," the period adventure "The Revenant" and Open Road's "Snowden". Also, one more film that is in the list of its competitions is Disney's long-awaited "Star Wars: Episode VII -The Force Awakens" which will premiere a week earlier.

"Horrible Bosses 2" directors Sean Anders and John Morris directed the movie which was originally noted for Vince Vaughn instead of Mark Wahlberg with Ethan Cohen directing. According to Deadline, the deal with Vaughn fell apart and was later on boarded with Wahlberg who already worked with Ferell in the cop comedy "The Other Guys" way back on 2010.

In the film, Ferrell plays the role of a mild-mannered radio executive who persistently works hard to be the best possible step father to his two step children. Wahlberg, on the other hand, portrays the children's freeloading father, as noted by Variety.

The forthcoming Christmas comedy "Daddy's Home" co-stars Linda Cardellini, Thomas Haden Church, Hannibal Buress and Paul Scheer. Ferell alongside Adam McKay are producing the movie under Gary Sanchez Productions whose Chris Henchy, Kevin Messick and Jessica Elbaum executive produce. Riza Aziz, Joey McFarland and David Koplan are executive producing the comedy with Red Granite as its co-financer.

Meanwhile, Ferrell last appeared in the locally shot "Get Hard" with Kevin Hart which grossed more than a hundred million from a budget of only $40 million while Wahlberg had a brief cameo on the film adaptation of "Entourage".
