Fans of Attack on Titan anime might have to be more patient for a while. The director of the series himself confirmed the delay of the anime and its reason.
Tesuro Araki, director of Attack on Titan series, says in a press conference for the live action film Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow, that there are a lot of things to be taken care of for the Attack of Titan franchise. Another reason to the delay of Attack of Titan Season 2 is that Araki has difficulty to come up with a new season. This is because the best-selling Japanese manga series that the anime is based on, which is written by Hajime Isayama, doesn't have a two-story arc.
In the first season of Attack on Titan, Araki has already covered 34 chapters of the manga. This means that Araki already used and showed the four-story arc of Isayama's manga: The Fall of Shiganshina, 104th Trainees Squad, Battle of Trost District, and The Female Titan.
Although, there is a rumor that is saying that Attack on Titan Season 2's plot might revolve around the 104th Trainees Squad and the power of the Titans.
Another rumor is that it could revolve around the king's alleged corruption which might result to an uprising that will be headed by Survey Corps Commander Erwin Smith. Aside from that, there are some who says that the plot will be about Clash of Titans story arc.
Another report says that new characters such as Captain Kenny Ackerman, Rod Reiss, Uri Reiss, Frieda Reiss and a unnamed giant titan.
Even though Attack on Titan Season 2 will still be aired a year from now, fans would be thrilled to know that there will be a two-part live action of Attack on Titan and a video game.
The first movie is the Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow which will be released on August 1, 2015 while the second movie is "Attack on Titan Part 2: Wings of Freedom," which will be released on September 19, 2016.
Attack on Titan Season 2 will be back on air in 2016. It's a long way away but at least there are movies and a video game.
