The LG G4 is set to be launched in Canada on 19 June.
LG confirmed that its latest flagship phone will be available via purchase with five Canadian telecoms: Telus, Bell, Rogers, Videotron and WIND Mobile. The unit will be available in black leather and metallic grey plastic variants, similar to the US.
Exact details regarding the LG G4's price are not yet official, but initial reports indicate a straight purchase goes for CAD$699.99. Getting the unit on contract can go for $199.99; other plans and promos could be announced soon.
US phone carriers released the LG G4 earlier this month. T-mobile and Verizon launched it on 3 and 4 June, respectively, while both AT&T and Sprint followed suit the day after. Getting the phone on contract varies with all four companies, but on the average a buyer can expect to get it for about US$20 on a two-year monthly installment contract with a $200 down payment. Verizon has the lowest outright purchase price of $550. Sprint and T-Mobile sell the G4 for $600, while AT&T priced it at $630. Promo freebies such as a 32GB memory card, an extra 3,000 mAH battery and a battery charging cradle complete the offer from the companies.
Launched in South Korea on 28 April, the LG G4 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset with two CPUS: a dual-core 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57 and a quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53; an Adreno 418 GPU, and 3GB RAM.
This 5.3-inch LTE-ready smartphone has an internal memory of 32GB which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. It comes with a 16MP main camera - which has received widespread positive response - and a 8MP secondary camera. A removable 3,000 mAH battery - which was seen as the company's response to user requests - provides power to this Android 5.1 unit. It uses a nano-sim, and comes with a stylus as well.
The LG G4 is 148.9 x 76.5 x 9.9mm in dimension, and has a curved back design with a large camera lens cover. It has leather and plastic housing variants.
